Job summary

Lakeside Nursery & Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated team member to support a Year 2 pupil with an EHCP and help maintain progress records. The role focuses on creating a safe, inclusive learning environment and collaborating with teachers to drive positive pupil outcomes.

Ideally, the candidate will be patient, enthusiastic, and committed to safeguarding all children in our care, with some experience supporting children with additional needs.

Qualifications

• Patience and empathy when supporting Year 2 pupils.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
• Experience or willingness to support children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support a child in Year 2 with an EHCP.
• Maintain records showing pupil progress against targets.
• Liaise with class teachers to support best outcomes.
• Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment.
• Promote inclusion and encourage participation in learning and activities.
• Demonstrate professionalism and align with academy ethos and policies.

Job description

Key Roles and responsibilities:

• Support a child in Year 2 with an EHCP

• Maintain records for pupils showing progress against key targets

• Liaise with class teachers to ensure best outcomes for pupils

• Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment

• Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all children in learning and extracurricular activities

• Show professionalism by having proper regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the academy

• Consistently demonstrate the positive attitudes, values and behaviour which are expected of pupils
