Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Ltd in Reading is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our FE Support Team. You will work alongside teaching staff to support learners with diverse needs across a range of courses, helping them overcome barriers and achieve qualifications.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with note-taking and use of assistive technology, and adapting materials to suit individual learning styles, while promoting independence and engagement.

Qualifications

• Level 2 in English and Maths is required.
• Experience with young people or adults in education, care, or youth work.
• Excellent communication, patience, flexibility, and a student-centred approach.
• Knowledge of FE environments, neurodiversity, or SEND support is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to learners in classroom, workshop, and practical settings.
• Assist learners with note-taking, organisation, and use of assistive technology.
• Adapt course materials and activities to suit individual learning styles.
• Promote student independence, confidence and engagement across the college.
• Collaborate with course tutors to monitor and record progress and attendance.
