Learning Support Assistant – 14 to 16 Provision

Learning Support Assistants are a vital part of Windsor Forest Colleges Group, helping students fully access their classes, achieve their learning goals and reach their full potential. Reporting to the Schools Programme Manager or Lead Learning Support Assistant, and working under the supervision of teaching staff, you will support whole classes, small groups or individual students in line with college policies and individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). As part of our Schools Provision, you will join a dedicated team supporting young people aged 14 to 16. Located in beautiful countryside surroundings, our provision offers a calm, nurturing and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, develop resilience and focus on their personal growth. Building trusting relationships is at the heart of everything we do, and our team is highly skilled at helping students feel safe, valued and understood. This commitment to excellence is reflected in our most recent student satisfaction survey, which achieved an outstanding 94% satisfaction rate.

Your daily responsibilities will include assisting with the planning, delivery and review of learning activities, as well as supporting students to overcome physical, emotional and learning barriers. You will also assist with assignments, exam preparation and the development of essential English, mathematics and ICT skills. In addition, the role involves monitoring student behaviour, maintaining confidential records, adapting learning materials and supporting the use of specialist equipment where required.

We welcome applications from individuals with experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting, and an understanding of how to support neurodivergent learners and those with additional learning needs. Essential qualifications include Level 2 qualifications, such as GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), in both English and Mathematics. Finally, the successful candidate must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people, strictly adhering to College policies regarding Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Health and Safety, Data Protection and Risk Management.
