Job summary

Lion Academy Trust is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our school team. The role focuses on ensuring pupils receive supportive, safe access to learning activities and working closely with teachers to maintain consistently good or better provision for students.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organised and communicate well with pupils, parents and staff, supporting both students and teachers while upholding safeguarding commitments and DBS requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar setting and ability to support pupils.
• Capable of supporting both students and teaching staff.
• Personable with good communication and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs; ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
• Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans
• Plans and Personal Care programmes
• Support learning activities in liaison with the teacher to help pupils achieve learning goals
• Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
• Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant who is willing to join our fantastic team. We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar setting who is capable of giving their knowledge and experience to the children in our school.

Reporting directly to our Head of School, you will be responsible for undertaking administrative and organisational processes as required, to support the teacher, to deliver consistently good or better provision for our children.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who will bring organisation and commitment to this role, supporting both the students and the teachers, ensuring all duties are completed to the highest standard. You will need to be personable and have good communication skills.

Your core duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs; ensuring their safety and access to learning activities

• Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals Assist with the planning of learning activities
