Overview

A specialist school based in Trowbridge is seeking a motivating and empathetic graduate to join their friendly team as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA). In this role, you will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates considering a career in psychology, neurodiversity, education or mental health. The school caters to children and young people aged 3 to 16 with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, communication challenges, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Responsibilities

As an LSA, you will work both in and out of the classroom, offering personalised support that encourages emotional, social and academic growth. You will also help deliver interventions focused around emotional regulation and promoting self-expression.

Expect lessons in music, cooking, drama, dance and art. Sensory-based learning and restorative practices are also key parts of the curriculum – as an LSA, you will help support with this, as well as rolling out other therapeutic techniques, often used in child psychology.
