  • Level 2 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent desirable.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and skilled term-time Learning Support Assistant.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of one-to-one and small group support, both in and out of class, in collaboration with a wide range of teaching and learning support professionals.
  • Support students in line with their individual needs and/or Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP).
  • Assist with student-related administration, e.g. regularly updating student plans in line with their SEN needs/EHCP.
  • Help students take full part in learning activities on equal terms with other students on programme.
  • Support teachers in promoting the behaviour required to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Ensure the support provided is effective in meeting the needs of students and will lead to successful outcomes and progression.
  • Contribute to the development of the Learning Support team by attending staff meetings and in-service training as appropriate.
  • Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young and vulnerable adults.
  • Become familiar with the use of SEN specialist equipment for the benefit of the student.
  • Complete relevant records and perform administrative duties relating to students with additional support needs.
Skills / Experience
  • Experience or potential to become an outstanding learning support assistant.
  • Experience of supporting individuals to achieve their goals.
  • Well organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft IT packages.
