Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs to reach their full potential? We're recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Leeds. The school supports children aged 2-19 with autism, communication needs (including non-verbal learners), complex learning difficulties, and medical needs.

Location: Leeds (accessible from Wakefield, Bradford, Dewsbury, Harehills & surrounding areas)

Pay: £101.40 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Start: November Start

Your Role Will Include
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assisting children who are non-verbal using visual aids, Makaton, and communication systems
  • Supporting personal care and basic medical assistance (training provided)
  • Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Helping pupils access learning through sensory activities and routine-based teaching
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
We're Looking For
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (autism, SEMH, or medical needs)
  • A calm, caring, and patient approach
  • Confidence to support communication and behaviour strategies
  • Full-time commitment during term time (Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30)
Ideal backgrounds
  • School or SEN classroom experience
  • Care, residential, or health support work
  • Psychology, Criminology, or Education graduates
