An esteemed educational institution in Poolfields is seeking dedicated individuals to care for and educate students with disabilities or learning difficulties. Responsibilities include supporting students' work, tracking progress, and ensuring health and safety needs are met. Candidates must have at least Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy. These vacancies have arisen due to a number of internal promotions and an increase in volume of students with SEND requirements. We have a number of positions available across both College sites and are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to take up these roles. Flexibility regarding working hours can be negotiated where requested. You will primarily be responsible for the care and education of students with disabilities or learning difficulties. Working under the direction of the Lead Support Tutor for additional learning support, specific duties include assisting students in their work; preparing rooms, equipment and materials, tracking learner progress as well as providing general individual assistance which may include attending to their health, safety, physical and hygiene needs. For the position you will be required to be qualified to at least Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE equivalent).
Relevant experience or qualifications in an education or caring capacity, particularly supporting students or young people with learning difficulties and/or other disabilities, is desirable. You will also have a good knowledge of safeguarding and equal opportunities. A Level 2 note-taking qualification or equivalent is desirable. You will be a good communicator, enthusiastic and self‑motivated with the ability to motivate others along with good organisational skills. A flexible approach to working hours will also be required to accommodate the needs of learners.
