Job summary

Q3 Academy Langley is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students with speech, language and communication needs, social and emotional difficulties, and to assist in using IT resources. The role involves delivering planned activities under the guidance of a Learning Consultant and helping students access the national curriculum.

The post is 0.2 FTE (approx. 7.4 hours/week) across 39 weeks per year, with salary in the £25k–£26k range (actual salary £25,614–£26,016) and opportunities

• Supervise students on school trips/visits.
• Liaise with staff to exchange and record information on students.

Job Title:Learning Support Assistant

At Q3 Langley Our vision for learning is based around the whole child, ensuring no child is left behind. This enables pupils from all starting points to make rapid progress and enjoy their learning whilst improving their literacy skills.

Students will be taught in mixed-attainment classes for their Core lessons. These follow the English Baccalaureate suite of subjects – English, mathematics, science, modern foreign languages,geographyand history. Outside of the Coresubjectsstudents follow a carousel of teaching in the Horizon or Innov8 curriculum. This broad and balanced curriculum focuses on developing knowledge and skills in computing, business, design, religious studies, PSHE, art, dance,dramaand music.

We use strategies within the curriculum and beyond to ensure these values are communicated and acted upon.

At theAcademyour spiritual, moral,socialand cultural (SMSC) education permeates through the curriculum, supports the development of the ‘whole child’and includes the teaching and development of British Values.

• Assist in the assessment of students’ attainment and with the recording and monitoring of students’ progress
• Assist the Learning Consultant with the supervision of students on school trips/visits
• Liaise with Learning Consultants and other staff to obtain, exchange and record information on students in accordance with Academy policy
• Develop and prepare and/or assist in the preparation of resources and assist in identifying resources required
• Meet regularly with Academy staff to evaluate, monitor and plan student’s progress
