Job summary

Co-op Academy Southfield is seeking a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to support our SEN provision. You will deliver bespoke education for SEN pupils, developing personalised learning and using innovative teaching methods to engage learners.

You will collaborate with external agencies and our inclusion team to provide holistic support, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes confidence and growth for every pupil.

Qualifications

Job description

Are you a dedicated and experienced educator passionate about making a difference in the lives of Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? At Co-op Academy Southfield, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team, where you'll play a pivotal role in our SEND provision.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant at Co-op Academy Southfield, you will deliver bespoke, specialist education tailored to meet the evolving needs of SEN pupils, including those with complex requirements.You will develop and implement personalised learning to support each pupil’s unique needs and abilities. Use innovative teaching methods and resources to engage and inspire young learners. Collaborate with external agencies and our wider inclusion team to ensure holistic support for pupil’s development. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and growth.

We are looking for candidates who:

  1. Are an excellent practitioner. A specialism or additional training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  2. Are confident in the classroom and understand how children with SEND, learn.
  3. Have high expectationsof what can be achieved.
  4. Seek to build positive relationships with children.
  5. Are flexible with a good sense of humour and an understanding of the ‘bigger picture’.
  6. Are able to work to their own initiative as well as part of a team.
  7. Are confident and excited about using and embracing IT and outdoor learning in their practice.
  8. Are flexible, hardworkingand have a passion to make a difference in the lives of our young learners.
  9. A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to making a difference.
