Job summary

St Thomas More Catholic School, Croftdale Road, Blaydon-on-Tyne, NE21 4BQ, is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to support teachers and learners in lessons.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers and learners in lessons.
• Prepare classroom materials and organise worksheets and equipment as directed by the subject teacher.
• Act as a key worker for designated pupils on the SEN Register and participate in related meetings and administration.
• Assist with SEN information administration, e.g. circulating profiles and providing admin support to the department.

Grade: Grade E – SCP 8 – 11 (£27,709 – £29,070 per annum, pro rata) plus First Aid Allowance (£500 p.a.)

Hours: 37 Hours per Week, Term Time Only + INSET Days (39 weeks), Permanent

We are seeking an individual to:

• Support teachers and learners in lessons.
• Prepare classroom materials e.g. organising work sheets, preparing support materials, setting up equipment following instructions from the subject teacher.
• Act as a key worker for designated pupils on the SEN Register and take part in associated meetings and administration.
• Assist with the administration of SEN information e.g. circulating profiles and giving admin support to the department.

The successful candidate will have:

• 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent including Maths and English.
• Post 16 Higher Education, Teaching Assistant or Degree level qualification.
• Experience of working with children in an educational setting.
• Good ICT skills.
• Good communication skills.
