The Organisation

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to learners with a range of additional learning needs, including SEN, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Assist learners in accessing the curriculum, building confidence, and developing independent learning skills
  • Work closely with teaching staff to implement support strategies and adapt learning materials to meet individual learner needs
  • Promote engagement, inclusion, and positive behaviour in the classroom and college environment
  • Support learners both in lessons and around the campus, helping them manage routines and navigate college life
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner support plans and reviews
  • Ensure safeguarding and wellbeing are prioritised at all times, acting in line with college policies and procedures
Essential Requirements
  • Experience supporting young people or adults in an educational, care, or community setting
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive, professional relationships with learners and staff
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive learning and supporting learner progress
  • Adaptable, patient, and proactive approach to supporting diverse needs
Desirable
  • Experience working with students with SEND, SEMH, or learning barriers
  • Knowledge of EHCPs, learning support strategies, and assistive technology
  • Relevant qualification in education, support work, or youth work (or willingness to work towards one)
