Job summary

A leading further education provider in Birmingham seeks a Learning Resources Assistant to manage and promote the Learning Resource Centres. This role requires excellent organisational, IT, and communication skills, along with experience in library services and working with diverse communities. The candidate should exhibit proven administrative abilities and be able to work effectively within a team. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare is essential.

Qualifications

About the Role

To manage, develop and promote the Learning Resource Centres across the College and to ensure that an effective resource, information, study area and study skills service is provided to all students and staff. Oversee Learning Resources to meet all curriculum requirements.

  • Demonstrable administrative and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Experience of working in a library
  • Experience of working within a team
  • Demonstrable experience of working with a diverse community including people from black & minority ethnic groups & people with disabilities
  • Demonstrable communication skills in answering enquiries from customers with diverse needs/backgrounds face to face and over the telephone
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and, ability to work with customers in a friendly and helpful manner
  • Demonstrable numeracy and literacy skills
  • Experience of organising own work effectively
