We are looking for a creative and ambitious Media practitioner who is ready to be a changemaker, someone who doesn’t just deliver lessons but inspires transformation. You will be passionate about using media as a tool for empowerment, storytelling, and social impact, and you’ll bring this energy into every classroom, studio, and production set. You will have a solid foundation in the media industry, with the ability to design learning experiences that are current, practical, and impactful. Your teaching will be informed by lived industry experience and your commitment to inclusive, learner‑centred education. You’ll engage students in ways that challenge them to think critically, collaborate effectively, and express themselves creatively. As a changemaker at Sunderland College, you’ll do more than teach – you’ll mentor, coach, and inspire. Through projects with our in‑house production company, Production Eighteen, you’ll give students real‑world opportunities to develop their skills and voice, preparing them for meaningful careers in the creative industries. Your contribution will directly support our mission to positively shape lives, communities, and the economy. You’ll model the College’s values of Courage, Authenticity, Respect and Excellence, and work collaboratively to build an ambitious, future‑focused curriculum. You’ll champion diversity, digital innovation, and personal growth, ensuring every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to achieve. This is more than a teaching role, it’s a chance to lead change, elevate talent, and create a legacy within an Ofsted Outstanding department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and forward‑thinking Media specialist to join our Outstanding Creative Arts team at Sunderland College. As a Learning Practitioner in Media, you will play a central role in shaping the next generation of content creators, filmmakers, and digital storytellers. You'll design and deliver high‑quality, career‑focused learning experiences that go beyond the classroom including opportunities to collaborate with Production Eighteen, our in‑house production company. Here, students work on real commercial briefs, giving you a platform to bridge education and industry in meaningful, inspiring ways. With access to cutting‑edge tools, professional‑standard facilities, and an ambitious curriculum, you’ll be part of a college that values creativity, innovation, and impact. This role offers exceptional development opportunities in a supportive, collaborative environment rated Ofsted Outstanding in 2024.
