Overview

We are seeking a Learning Mentor with an interest in special needs education to join Garratt Park School. The role supports students to overcome barriers to learning in small groups or 1:1, within a pastoral team.

Responsibilities
  • Support students to overcome barriers to learning in small groups or 1:1 settings.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to create a positive learning environment.
  • Provide flexible, caring and resilient support to learners with special needs.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience as a mentor, behaviour support worker or learning support assistant with young people is desirable.
  • Interest in special needs education and a caring, flexible and resilient approach.

Garratt Park School is a special school for children and young people aged 11-19 with moderate learning difficulties and other special needs disabilities including Autism, SCLN, sensory impairments and some with more complex needs. The school is located in Wandsworth, with most students from the local area and diverse backgrounds.
