Job summary

Stable Futures is seeking an experienced Learning Mentor to support children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will provide bespoke 1:1 and small-group support to enable access to education and personal development in our therapeutic setting.

The role requires flexibility, including sessions outside term dates and some weekends, plus planned home visits across Amegreen Children’s Services settings, working with families, schools and therapists to support

Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Experience supporting autism and communication needs, including non-verbal learners or alternative communication.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and the vulnerabilities of complex needs.
• Ability to adapt activities and communication to individual levels of understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to learners with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Support learners with autism and non-verbal communication.
• Adapt communication, activities and environments to individual needs.
• Support independence, communication, confidence, and social interaction.
• Follow support plans, risk assessments, EHCP outcomes, and medical guidance.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and reports.
• Undertake planned home visits and work with families and professionals.
