The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to fundamentally redesign our core distribution and finance processes, simplify operations, and modernise our enabling technology through our Process & Operational Excellence harmonisation programme. By being part of this transformation, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of RS.

The Workstream/ Process Training Lead owns design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the end-to-end learning and training strategy for the global process – both hands-on or through other stakeholders. The role ensures that all impacted colleagues have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to adopt new processes and systems successfully, driving organisational readiness, user adoption, operational effectiveness, and sustained business value through go-live and beyond. Acting as the single point of accountability for process training, the role partners closely with Process Owners, Change teams, SMEs, System Integrators, and Learning teams to embed effective learning solutions that support both transformation objectives and long-term capability development.

The Process & Operational Excellence (P&OE) Portfolio is a multi-year, enterprise critical transformation and a core component of the RS Enterprise Roadmap over the next five years. It addresses inefficiencies created by fragmented processes, inconsistent data, and a complex legacy SAP ECC6 landscape. The objective is to deliver improved customer, supplier & colleague experience, increased productivity and scalability, enhanced resilience and management control across the Group.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Lead the learning strategy for a global business process or workstream, ensuring employees are ready for new systems and ways of working before, during, and after go-live.
  • Align learning activities with change management initiatives to drive user engagement, adoption, and business readiness.
Learning Design & Development
  • Identify learning needs through impact assessments and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop role-based learning programmes, training plans, and learning journeys that support programme objectives.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality learning content, including instructor-led training, virtual sessions, e-learning, simulations, and job aids.
  • Create and maintain learning materials using digital learning tools and platforms.
Learning Administration
  • Manage learning activities within the Learning Management System (LMS), including learner assignments, learning paths, and training records.
  • Upload, test, publish, and maintain learning content and assessments.
  • Monitor training participation, completion rates, and learner engagement.
  • Provide regular training reporting and performance updates.
Training Delivery
  • Plan and coordinate global training delivery, including scheduling, logistics, resources, and stakeholder support.
  • Enable Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) through User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Train-the-Trainer programmes.
  • Ensure training is delivered consistently across regions while meeting local needs.
Stakeholder Management & Governance
  • Work closely with programme leaders, global process owners, system integrator, business integrator, and change teams to deliver successful training outcomes.
  • Act as the primary contact for all training-related activities within the programme.
  • Establish and maintain training standards, governance, and quality assurance processes.
  • Track training effectiveness and adoption metrics, using insights to continuously improve learning solutions.
  • Manage training risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure alignment with programme milestones.
  • Support post-go-live learning, performance support, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Maintain and enhance learning content, knowledge repositories, and ongoing development pathways for different employee groups, including new starters, managers, and super users.
  • Support the transition to business-as-usual learning and development processes.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional qualification/experience) in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Business Management, Organisational Development, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Recognised professional qualification in Learning & Development, Training, Change Management, or Instructional Design (e.g. CIPD Level 5/7, ATD, CPTD, Prosci, or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent experience leading learning delivery within large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Proven experience leading training or learning workstreams within large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong experience with SAP enabled transformations and associated business process change.
  • Experience working across complex environments involving multiple systems (e.g. ERP, data platforms, or supporting applications).
  • Experience in learning administration with SAP LMS.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and process changes into practical, user-focused learning solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience integrating training into broader change and adoption strategies.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and programme management capabilities.
  • Experience supporting global, multi-country programme deployments, including coordination of training across different languages, cultures, and business units.
