An arts organization is inviting learning disabled artists to apply for a paid opportunity to present their work at a festival in Portsmouth. The selected artists will receive a budget of £2,000 to support travel, access costs, and production expenses. Interested applicants should submit a short bio and examples of their work. The event aims to elevate the voices of artists with learning disabilities.

We’re excited to be organising a Learning Disability-led Arts Festival in Portsmouth on the 8th, 9th and 10th of May 2026, in partnership with Aspex Gallery. As part of the festival, we are looking for three learning disabled artists to share their work.
This New Ground aims to elevate the artistic voices and talents of people a with learning disability.
We are open to all kinds of performance – this might include:
We have a budget of £2,000 allocated for each artist. This amount is inclusive of travel, access costs, and any production expenses. We understand that each artist and company has different needs and shows, and we’re happy to support you in finding ways to make this work.

Our learning disability-led committee will look through all the submissions and choose three artists to take part in the festival.
