Job summary

A local charity is seeking a Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities in a community setting. The role includes planning and delivering activity sessions, designing client-specific programs, and utilizing a Person-Centred Approach. Candidates must have relevant care experience and be working towards NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care. Full-time hours are available, with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care services is essential.
  • Must have or be working towards NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care.
  • Skills in medication administration and behaviour management are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver activities for groups with learning disabilities.

Job description
Support Worker – Journey Enterprises

Support Worker needed at Local Charity. 22 hrs/week (Mon to Fri). £12.44/hr: £23,934.83 pro rata (Spinal Point 2). Start date: a.s.a.p (with DBS clearance). Location: NE24 1LL.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver a differentiated timetable of morning and afternoon activities for groups of 8-10 adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • Design client activities sessions to meet the requirements of each Client’s Care Support Plan, Day Service contracts, funded programmes and the Care Act.
  • Deliver activities both on site and in the community, in line with Day Service contract requirements.
  • Provide a varied weekly programme of activities. Clients choose their activities to meet the needs set out in their Care & Support Plans.
  • Use a Person-Centred Approach to create a bespoke programme for each person.
Qualifications
  • Care experience in a relevant setting.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care for Adults – must have or be willing to work towards.
  • Skills in medication administration and behaviour management – desired.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
