Job summary

RGH-Global Limited is recruiting Learning Disability Nurses for full-time and part-time roles within Norwich-based Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team. The role offers clinic-based hybrid work with 1–2 days in the office, focusing on autism and ADHD assessments via NHS pathways.

You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering diagnostic assessments, feedback to families, and high-quality clinical reports using digital workflows and smart reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • NMC registered Learning Disability Nurse.
  • Minimum 1 year diagnosing neurodevelopmental assessments in children/young people or adults.
  • Experience with autism/ADHD assessment tools.
  • Experience in MDT settings, not working alone.
  • Willing to assess for both autism and ADHD, and trained in area if needed.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 criteria for autism and ADHD.
  • Experience with neurodevelopmental or mental health cases in clinical settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face structured observations as part of neurodevelopmental assessments.
  • Conduct remote developmental history interviews with parents/caregivers via Zoom.
  • Participate in MDT diagnostic discussions with senior clinicians.
  • Provide clear, compassionate feedback to families.
  • Produce accurate clinical reports with diagnostic formulations using smart tools.
  • Write assessment reports timely with recommendations and interventions.
  • Meet service KPIs and provide supervision to junior staff where applicable.
  • Attend Norwich clinic base for in-person assessments 1–2 days per week.

Role Overview

We are seeking Learning Disability Nurses for full-time and part-time roles within our client's Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team based in Norwich. This is an exciting and valuable clinic-based/hybrid position (minimum 1-2 days in office) for suitably qualified clinicians working with children and young people referred for autism and/or ADHD assessments via NHS Patient Choice and GP pathways.

You will join a passionate and supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and their families. Working with cutting-edge digital workflows and smart report-writing tools, you'll be equipped to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care.

The role requires conducting comprehensive specialist assessments including diagnostic assessments of individuals with suspected autism and/or ADHD using established diagnostic tools. Assessments of mental health conditions may also be required. You will conduct developmental history interviews, participate in MDT diagnostic discussions, and deliver clear, compassionate feedback to families. Responsibilities include producing accurate clinical reports with diagnostic formulations, meeting service KPIs, and depending on experience, providing clinical supervision to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting face-to-face structured observations as part of the neurodevelopmental assessment process
  • Conducting remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via Zoom
  • Participating collaboratively in peer MDT diagnostic discussions, supported by senior clinicians where needed
  • Delivering clear, compassionate feedback to families
  • Producing accurate clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with the help of smart tools
  • Writing assessment reports in a timely and professional manner with appropriate recommendations and interventions
  • Working efficiently to meet service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Delivering clinical supervision to junior staff members (where applicable)
  • Attending the Norwich clinic base for in-person assessments (minimum 1-2 days per week)
Essential Requirements
  • NMC registered Learning Disability Nurse
  • Minimum of 1 year experience conducting diagnostic neurodevelopmental/specialist developmental assessments with children and young people OR adults
  • Experience with assessment tools for autism and/or ADHD
  • Must have worked within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) conducting assessments - NOT worked alone
  • Willing to conduct assessments for BOTH autism AND ADHD
  • Willing to be trained in either area if lacking experience in one
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism and ADHD
  • Knowledge of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental presentations
  • Experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting
  • Effective time management and caseload organisation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in report writing and record keeping
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
Highly Desirable
  • Trained and experienced in the use of ADOS-2 and ADI‑R
  • Additional qualifications in relevant areas of autism and/or ADHD
