Job summary

ECL is seeking a Learning Disabilities Support Worker to join the Canvey Island Day Centre. You will provide practical, emotional and social support to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, helping them gain independence, manage daily tasks and engage in meaningful activities.

Core hours are Mon-Fri with flexibility, permanent contract, 24 hours per week, at £12.91 per hour. Benefits include mileage, induction, training, pension, healthcare and loyalty rewards.

Qualifications

• Passionate about providing a high level of care to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• Exceptional listening and communication skills.
• Empathetic approach.
• Willing to provide personal care.
• Basic IT skills for logging customer information.
• Proactive approach and ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, emotional and social support to help individuals achieve outcomes.
• Support daily living tasks, personal care and eating/drinking.
• Assist with gaining qualifications and independent living skills.
• Be flexible to meet service needs across centres and in the community.
