Learning Disabilities Support Worker
Stroud, Gloucestershire
£13.68 per hour (temporary), £13.00 per hour (permanent)
Temporary to Permanent – Full-time

Shift Patterns:

Early: 7am 2:30pm

Late: 2:30pm 10pm

Long day: 7am 10pm

Are you an experienced Support Worker with a passion for providing excellent care to adults with complex needs? Balfor Health and Social Care is currently seeking Support workers in the Stroud area who have experience working with individuals with challenging behaviour, complex health conditions, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support with routines, personal care, and administration of medication.
  • Encourage independence and support the development of life skills.
  • Assist service users to engage in meaningful activities and participate in community life.
  • Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with service users.
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and empowering environment.
  • Adapt support approaches to meet individual needs.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in supporting individuals with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, or behaviours that challenge.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural service locations).
  • MAPA or PMVA training desirable (training can be provided if required).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a calm, professional approach.
