At M&S, we're building a learner‑led culture where development is part of everyday work. As a Learning Designer, you'll join a small, agile team creating innovative and impactful learning solutions that build skills, improve performance, and deliver measurable results.

You'll work closely with the Learning & Leadership team, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to turn design briefs into practical learning experiences, from digital modules and toolkits to workshops and blended programmes. Using design thinking principles and modern learning technologies, you'll design, prototype, test, and refine solutions that are engaging, accessible, and aligned to business goals.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll not only design but also produce learning products, ensuring every experience is relevant, on‑brand, and impactful.

To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

We have a flexible approach, talk to us about part‑time opportunities in this role (minimum 3 days per week). If it's meaningful to you, it's important to us.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Design and deliver learning solutions that address real performance challenges, including digital modules, toolkits, workshops, and blended programmes.
  • Simplify complexity and create clean, on‑brand visuals and layouts that make learning easy to follow and engaging.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to design solutions that solve business problems and drive measurable impact.
  • Prototype, test, and refine learning products using tools such as Articulate Rise, Easy Generator, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Manage projects end‑to‑end, including briefs, timelines, stakeholder engagement, and third‑party content providers.
Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Experience designing learning and delivering end‑to‑end projects from scope to launch.
  • Skilled in tools such as PowerPoint, Canva, Articulate Rise, and Easy Generator.
  • Knowledge of design thinking and modern learning design principles.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Creative flair for layouts and graphics, plus advanced IT skills (Microsoft Suite & authoring tools).
