An educational institution in Gloucester is seeking a Learning Coach to support students with additional needs in a flexible learning environment. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to identify barriers to learning and implement tailored strategies. This role offers opportunities for professional development and has a strong focus on student welfare and wellbeing. Applicants should have experience working with children and possess skills for adapting to varied educational needs.
Our educational mission is, therefore, to offer a provision tailored for each of our students, to both:
Belong Learning students often have a continual lived experience of complex additional needs and adverse childhood experiences, in and outside of school, at home and in the community. In this context, we recognise that Education Provisions are often the right place at the right time to deliver and/or facilitate the support that children and young people need, as part of an integrated Local Authority offer.
As a Learning Coach, you will work as part of a wider team to support students to engage with school-based education by identifying barriers to learning, implementing bespoke strategies and delivering a bespoke curriculum to address those and enable their school success. You will deliver our curriculum through positive intervention, one-to-one or small group learning experiences and a unique approach to the educational needs of every student that includes a high degree of flexibility and opportunities for learning outside the classroom. You will plan, deliver and monitor a range of activities in a range of settings, supporting them to return to school-based education and gain skills and independence.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students is paramount and all staff are expected to share and embrace this commitment. Due to the nature of work in schools and contact with pupils, it is envisaged that all posts will require an enhanced DBS Disclosure and this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
Any offer of employment is subject to two satisfactory professional references, medical clearance, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check (DBS), evidence of eligibility to work in the UK and evidence of qualifications. All of the above checks must have been completed before the start of employment. As part of our due diligence for safer recruitment, we may carry out online searches for shortlisted candidates to help identify any incidents or issues which may need to be explored at interview. The searches would be made on open-source information and may include, but will not be limited to, the main social networking sites, including Instagram and Facebook.
Please note the salary quoted is ACTUAL salary for term time only hours, 8.45-4.15 Monday to Friday.
