Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal Deutschland GmbH is expanding its Learning & Development team in London. This role focuses on designing and delivering technical training programmes for a global client base, partnering with SMEs and delivery teams to ensure practical, outcome‑driven learning.

You will work across course design, development, and operations, shaping content, managing vendors, and applying AI tools to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 4-7 years in learning and development, ideally with a focus on managing technical learning programmes.
  • Understanding of instructional design principles with some experience supporting the development of technical learning programmes.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and proactively drive projects forward.
  • Strong ability to evaluate learning effectiveness through data analysis and apply insights to drive improvements in learning programmes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience collaborating across teams, managing vendor relationships, and engaging with stakeholders at various levels within the organisation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple learning projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within a professional services or consulting environment is a plus.
  • Experience applying AI tools and technologies to learning design and or for operational efficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop and evaluate technical learning programmes.
  • Identify training needs and priorities to meet business goals and performance challenges.
  • Develop learning design proposals with defined outcomes for stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships, book trainers and review terms and invoices.
  • Coordinate delivery readiness and evaluate course effectiveness post‑delivery.

The Team

The Technical Portfolio sits within A&M's Learning & Development function, working closely with Learning Partners, subject matter experts, and delivery teams across the business. The team designs and develops technical, industry-specific, and methodology-focused learning programmes, partnering with business stakeholders and external vendors in a fast-paced professional services environment.

How you will contribute
Learning & Development Operations
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including Learning Partners, subject matter experts (SMEs), and delivery teams to ensure the effective design, development, and evaluation of technical training programmes.
  • Training Needs Identification: Collaborate with Learning Partners to assess and prioritise technical training needs to ensure alignment with organisational goals, particularly addressing business and performance challenges.
  • Best Practices Guidance: Advise on best practices and effective blended learning approaches to address identified technical performance challenges, ensuring the solutions align with business objectives.
  • Design Proposals: Assist in developing learning design proposals for business stakeholders, incorporating intended learning outcomes to align with technical learning needs.
  • Operational Support: Assist in refining and managing the processes, methodologies, and tools for creating, organising, delivering, and evaluating technical learning content.
  • Course Catalogue Assistance: Support the ongoing maintenance of the technical course catalogue to reflect current offerings and ensure alignment with evolving business needs and priorities.
Course Design & Development
  • Content Development and Evaluation: Design and develop technical learning programmes, including industry-specific and methodology-focused content, ensuring alignment with defined learning objectives. Evaluate the effectiveness of each programme, attending courses as needed, and use insights to recommend areas for improvement.
  • Existing Solutions Review: Partner with business stakeholders and Learning Partners to assess current technical learning solutions, facilitating updates, revisions, and continuous improvement to enhance impact.
  • Design Process Adherence: Ensure adherence to design principles and project timelines, so learning initiatives are delivered on time and in line with project specifications.
  • SME Collaboration: Work directly with SMEs to develop and review content, ensuring accuracy and relevance to technical learning objectives.
  • Instructional Design: Apply instructional design principles to create engaging, effective learning experiences, utilising multimedia resources where appropriate, to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with content vendors. Partner with account managers to book dates, select trainers, negotiate terms / rates, and review and execute agreements and invoices. Team with instructors to design and deliver high quality courses.
Course Preparation & Execution
  • Delivery Coordination: Work with the delivery team to kick off new courses, ensuring readiness and alignment with portfolio objectives.
  • Training Support: Provide on-site or remote support during course conduct, as needed, to ensure a seamless training experience and to evaluate course effectiveness.
