Learning & Development Development Officer

The Opportunity

We are recruiting a switched-on, highly organised Learning & Development Development Officer to join a busy People team, with flexibility to appoint on either a temporary or permanent basis. This role offers a strong opportunity for someone who is passionate about learning, organisational development, and making a real impact on people and culture. The successful candidate will play an important role in upcoming project work, including a cultural review that will involve coordinating mini events, workshops, and focus groups. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, can work independently, and thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

What's Coming Up in the Team

Delivery of mini learning and engagement events linked to a wider cultural review. Project‑based work supporting learning and organisational development activity. Events such as workshops and focus groups. Opportunity to contribute ideas and shape how learning initiatives are delivered. This role would particularly suit someone with an interest in occupational psychology, organisational development, or people development, who is keen to see the direct impact of their work.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for learning and development enquiries, escalating where appropriate. Manage internal and external learning events end‑to‑end, including: researching and liaising with external providers, promoting events and managing attendance, evaluating feedback and outcomes, manage the learner journey from booking through to completion, ensuring a smooth experience, coordinate learning and organisational development projects, including cultural initiatives, manage the day‑to‑day administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and maintain accurate training records, maintain learning and development content on internal communication platforms and produce promotional materials, monitor and analyse learning data, producing reports and insights, coordinate authorisation processes for learning requests and support invoice processing.

You'll be organised, proactive, and confident working independently, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. You'll enjoy organising events, working with stakeholders, and contributing to project work that supports culture and engagement.

Essential:

  • Experience working in Learning & Development, including training administration and event coordination
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence working with data, systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and data protection
  • A genuine passion for learning and development

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification (or working towards)
  • Interest or background in organisational development or occupational psychology
  • Experience using LMS or HR systems
