Job Summary

The learning and development facilitator will be responsible for the delivery of the programme of learning for the Research Systems Programme (Future IRAS). This post is key to the successful, safe and correct use of Future IRAS for the HRA. The post holder will work closely with the skills and capability manager and manage the digital learning required to support Future IRAS. They are expected to have experience in Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE), instructional design principles and the design, development and delivery of e‑learning.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic capability, learning and development advice and support to staff, managers, teams, change programmes and external stakeholders. Facilitate a culture where professionalism is valued and support people delivering services in health and social care research. Drive the implementation of the training strategy across the HRA landscape, analysing core IT skills, existing training requirements and the correct learning methodologies (70/20/10). Design and deliver face‑to‑face, self‑paced, webinar and interactive e‑learning to meet programme objectives.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in learning and development/digital learning design.
  • Qualification in e‑Learning design (Articulate, Vyond, Canva, Storyline) or proven use of these tools.
  • CIPD Level 5 or further training or significant learning & development experience.
  • Experience evaluating and measuring the performance of services and stakeholder management.
  • High computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel and learning software (Articulate, Camtasia).
  • Competence in developing bespoke learning platforms, technology and databases within HRAs.
  • Knowledge of information governance structures in HRA and nationally.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively in a team to meet key performance criteria and deliver multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong communication skills: persuasive, influential and able to manage contentious issues.
  • Capacity to mentor colleagues and deliver webinars/live training to large audiences.
  • Expertise in creating robust, quality‑assured online or blended learning journeys using up‑to‑date software and technical solutions.
  • Analytical skills for quantitative and qualitative data, including performance metrics.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Desirable
  • Skill in conveying difficult messages to senior external stakeholders.
