South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined authority is going through an exciting period of change, and this role will be key in supporting colleague development and career progression. As Learning and Development Adviser, you will be responsible for the design, delivery, and coordination of the Corporate Induction programme, ensuring a consistent and high-quality onboarding experience for all new colleagues. You will also design and deliver a range of learning solutions for existing employees, including face-to-face and virtual workshops, eLearning modules, quick guides, and instructional videos.

Working closely with the People Services and Digital teams, you will manage the process for handling learning and development requests across the organisation and oversee the tracking of mandatory learning initiatives, ensuring compliance with both legal and organisational requirements.

About the role

You will lead and manage a variety of L&D projects from inception through to completion, coordinating the development and regular updating of learning content to reflect current policies, best practices, and regulations.

A key part of this role involves preparing regular reports on learning and development activities, such as participation and completion rates for mandatory training. You will also implement and monitor metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives and support continuous improvement.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a Learning and Development role, including the facilitation of both face-to-face and virtual workshops.
  • Strong capability in managing Learning Experience / Management Systems and associated content.
  • Proficiency in eLearning design and the use of authoring tools.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience in managing and delivering Corporate Induction programmes.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ideally, a sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and a CIPD qualification or equivalent.
