The Maritime Museum Assistant Placement is a six month opportunity hosted by The Maritime Archaeology Trust at The Shipwreck Centre & Maritime Museum. We’re looking for a young person interested in learning more about working within a museum. The placement holder will learn about the different roles involved in running a small museum with a focus on marketing and collections.

This placement is open to those aged 18-25 for the duration of the placement. It is one day per week for 6 months, and you will be paid a stipend of £100/day. You will have the opportunity to work across, or choose between, the established Shipwreck Centre & Maritime Museum in Arreton and the new unopened future museum site in Yarmouth. This placement starts at the beginning of April, and finishes in September. The day of the week and exact time will be confirmed with you if you are selected for this role, as we will try and be accommodating of your schedule where possible.
