Lean Manufacturing Engineer

Location: UK sites (travel required)

Salary: Competitive

We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking manufacturing business that is undergoing a major Lean transformation. They are looking for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer with the drive, energy and autonomy to make a real impact.

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, analytical, and confident working both independently and with operational teams to deliver practical improvements.

The Role
  • Drive Lean transformation across multiple UK manufacturing sites based (local to your address).
  • Identify waste, inefficiencies and process issues, providing practical and sustainable solutions.
  • Work hands-on on the shop floor, observing processes and collaborating with production and quality teams.
  • Lead time studies, motion studies and data analysis to improve flow and streamline processes.
  • Use Lean tools including 5S, 7 Wastes, root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone), process mapping and value stream mapping.
  • Produce clear data models and reports using advanced Excel skills to support decision-making.
  • Own CI projects from initial investigation through to implementation and long-term sustainability.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing, production or Lean-focused environment.
  • Proven practical experience applying Lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across departments.
  • Willingness to travel between UK sites as required.
