Job summary

Biotage is seeking a Facilities Technician to support the Facilities and Engineering team at the Ystrad Mynach site. The role is hands-on within a small facilities team, requiring ownership of tasks and the ability to work independently.

You will perform maintenance, support LEV installations, coordinate with contractors, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining documentation and using the Pirana system. A UK driving license and HS&E awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical installations.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in a craft skill, or a craft apprenticeship completed or in progress.
• Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
• Competent with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with site PPMs.
• PASMA, IPAF, and forklift truck qualifications desirable.
• Familiar with HS&E practices.
• Full UK drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building and site maintenance.
• Support engineering activities, including services and LEV installations.
• Assist and coordinate with contractors to ensure project completion.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Compile and maintain risk assessments, work instructions, drawings, sketches, calculations, and records.
• Carry out repair and modification work to site facilities and equipment, including electrical wiring and service installations.
• Complete development and maintenance tasks and update the Pirana management system.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrate self‑discipline and awareness of 5S, lean, and HS&E practices.
