Job summary

Blythwood Vets in Bushey, Hertfordshire, is seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to combine hands-on clinical work with leadership across our multi-site practice.

You’ll enjoy a 4-day week, no on-call requirements, and a role that enables mentoring colleagues, guiding clinical standards, and developing specialist skills, while delivering high-quality patient care for our loyal client base.

Qualifications

• A vet with at least 5 years UK experience with the confidence to lead by example.
• Previous line management, mentoring or leadership experience is highly desirable.
• Comfortable managing a varied first opinion caseload, including routine surgery and consultations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and mentor colleagues where needed.
• Lead and support a collaborative clinical team across Bushey and Hatch End sites.
• Balance hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities and strategic improvement.
