Nurse Team Leader – Shape, Inspire, Deliver Excellence

Award-Winning Independent Practice, Eastry, Kent

Are you the kind of nurse who leads from the front: calm under pressure, compassionate with patients and inspiring to those around you?

At Beacon View Vets, we’re looking for a Lead Nurse who can bring clinical brilliance, inspirational leadership and a passion for people together to help us keep raising the bar.

We’re a multi-award-winning, independent small-animal practice, proud of our warm culture, high standards and genuine team spirit. Our people are the heartbeat of everything we do, and as Lead Nurse, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and supporting them to shine.

Thriving day to day in the role you will get to:

  • Lead, manage and nurture our talented (and rather special) nursing team, coaching confidence and consistency.
  • Drive excellence across patient, client, team and business experience.
  • Shape our nursing standards, protocols and clinical quality.
  • Be a positive role model: hands‑on, approachable and always ready to help others learn and grow.

At Beacon View, you’ll join a close-knit, values-driven team who genuinely care for each other and our clients. We work hard, respect balance, celebrate success and believe that enjoying what you do every day is just as important as doing it well.

If you’re ready to make your mark, grow your leadership impact and be part of something truly special — we would love to hear from you.

The Role

As our Lead Nurse, you’ll combine hands‑on clinical work with strategic leadership. You’ll guide, inspire and coach a talented nursing team, embedding our values of compassion, teamwork, accountability and embracing the adventure in everything we do.

You’ll take ownership of nursing standards, ensure seamless daily operations, and work closely with the Directors to deliver exceptional patient care, smooth workflows and an empowered, high‑performing team.

You’ll lead by example; fostering a growth mindset, encouraging reflection and development, and creating a psychologically safe and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive.

You’ll play a key role in translating practice goals into nursing action, whether that’s through leading clinical audits, developing our expert roles within the team, or championing improvements in patient, client and team experience.

About Beacon View

The team is what really makes Beacon View Vets so special. We’re a close‑knit bunch that supports each other and gets on well. Our strong culture and values guide every decision, fostering a positive work environment. We love that the team feels empowered to share their ideas and make decisions, and it’s been great seeing these ideas come to life.

Our 20‑minute vet consultations and scheduled time for admin allow us to provide a thorough service, build strong client relationships, and focus on providing exceptional care without the pressure of constant rushing.

The retention of our independence means that by working alongside our team day to day we have an inherent understanding of everyone’s needs and aspirations. We have regular communication with each team member, treating everyone individually with trust and honesty.

We have been presented with awards from the BVHA and VMA, Vet Dynamics furnished us with the “Inspiring New Practice” award, followed more recently by the “Outstanding Leadership” award.

Being a responsible business is very important to us, and we are accredited by the Good Business Charter, which covers everything from environmental impact to team wellbeing.

Cutting‑Edge Care, Compassionate Team

We are proud of the experience and expertise within our team. We are continually investing in our team and equipment, in recent years we have purchased the latest range of laparoscopic, endoscopic and orthopaedic equipment. In 2025 we have launched a new 1700 sq. ft. clinical area, CT scanner, and Advanced Practitioner‑led orthopaedic services as part of our expansion. We believe in nurturing talent within our team, and have heavily invested in both clinical and non‑clinical training across a wide range of topics and certificate levels.

We are fortunate to be able to diagnose and treat most cases in‑house, and with a varied caseload we offer a wide range of services to existing clients and local referrals.

We pride ourselves on our culture and look after the team's wellbeing. We are partnered with external consultants to independently assess and advise on our strategies, as well as our performance as leaders. Our team has access to external coaches to help support their development, and we are long‑standing members of the Vet Dynamics independent community which helps our practice to thrive and grow.

Over the course of the year, we come together as a team for various events. These have included trips out for dinner, a visit to the water park and Go‑Ape, and thought‑provoking sessions at our journal club and regular team workshops.

“I feel really grateful to be part of such a great team. Everyone is totally dedicated to providing quality veterinary care for our patients and their humans. I love that I get to work somewhere that champions development both on a personal level and as a practice. From individual and group training, to new equipment, to regular meetings to discuss clinical improvements where anyone can make suggestions, the team is always striving to offer the best care to our clients and provide a service we can be proud of.” Sarah, Vet

“Since moving to Beacon View, I feel as though I have rekindled my love of veterinary nursing again. Being part of a team who are dedicated, compassionate and empathetic has allowed me to feel as though I am working alongside like‑minded people, all of whom put the animals and their humans first. There is a shared sense of purpose and enthusiasm to help that is evident as soon as you walk through the doors of the building; the animals are not just patients, they are part of the family and we want to do everything we can to make them feel better.” Rachel, RVN

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact, not just on patients, but on people. You’ll shape how our nursing team evolves, collaborate closely with our vets and client care team, and help us continuously improve as we grow. It’s a role for someone who loves variety, values development and wants to lead with heart.

You’ll know how to bring out the best in others, coaching, supporting and holding your team accountable with kindness and clarity.
