Job summary

YMCA Derbyshire's Key College is seeking an inspiring Lead Tutor to lead programmes, mentor colleagues, and shape provision for young people aged 16-24 with SEND and EHCPs.

You will deliver engaging English, maths and employability sessions, coordinate Practical Skills and Supported Internship provision across the team, and work closely with parents, carers, employers and external agencies to create lasting impact.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people aged 16-24 with SEND or EHCPs.
• Proven ability to lead teams and programmes.
• Commitment to safeguarding and high-quality education.
• Excellent relationship-building with families and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver our Pre-Supported Internship programme (as applicable).
• Teach engaging English, maths and employability sessions.
• Support learners to progress into Supported Internships and employment.
• Coordinate Practical Skills and Supported Internship provision across the team.
• Mentor and support tutors to deliver outstanding learning experiences.
• Work closely with parents, carers, employers and external agencies.
• Act as the Key College site lead for our Green Hub and Marble Hall centres.
• Help shape innovative programmes that prepare young people for adulthood and work.

Based: Marble Hall and Green hub YMCA London Road and Nightingale Road.

Hours: 35 hours per week

At YMCA Derbyshire's Key College, we work with young people aged 16-24 with SEND and EHCPs, helping them develop the confidence, skills and independence they need to move into employment, Supported Internships and brighter futures.

• Passionate about improving opportunities for young people with SEND
• An experienced tutor, teacher or trainer
• Confident leading others and supporting colleagues to succeed
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent at building positive relationships with learners, families and partner organisations
• Committed to safeguarding and delivering high-quality education

Driving licence and access to a car essential.

Experience supporting learners with EHCPs, employability or Supported Internships would be highly desirable.
