The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead is seeking a Principal Sustainable Transport Officer in Maidenhead, offering hybrid working and a salary of £39,526 - £43,613 per annum. You will lead the highways development control team and influence transport planning in a dynamic local government setting.

This permanent role requires a degree and professional body membership, with strong leadership and communication skills to engage stakeholders and deliver compliant highway infrastructure proposals.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
• Membership of a relevant professional body.
• Experience in line management and developing teams.
• Significant experience of highway development control and the planning process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Highways Development Control team and manage workloads to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with Planning, Highways and external consultants to ensure compliance with standards.
• Scope Transport Assessments and review strategic transport modelling outputs.
• Lead highways responses on major applications with timely specialist input.
• Provide advice on legal agreements to secure highway infrastructure and travel plans.
