Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead transformer projects across energy infrastructure. You will manage scope, schedule, budgets, and commercial performance, coordinating with customers, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to deliver on time and within contract requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a track record of delivering complex projects in power and energy sectors, with a focus on safety and quality

Qualifications

• Proven Project Management experience within the power, utilities, or energy infrastructure sector.
• Experience delivering projects involving transformers, substations, switchgear, or other high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, commercial management, and contract execution.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and construction environments.
• Excellent customer-facing, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities.
• Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent industry experience).

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of transformer projects from contract award through to final handover.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and commercial performance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate the supply, logistics, installation, testing, and commissioning of transformer equipment.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, planning, commercial, and site teams to deliver project objectives.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies where required.
• Manage project financials, including forecasting, cost control, invoicing, and cash flow performance.
• Support contract administration, change management, claims, and project close-out activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all project activities are delivered in compliance with company quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
