Job summary

WSP’s Surveying Services team in the UK & Ireland is expanding, with roles across Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and other UK offices. You will lead surveying projects, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction while mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in surveying, professional membership (advantageous), and strong experience with Total Stations, GNSS, UAV surveys, and software like N4ce, TBC, Leica Cyclone and

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Surveying or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in surveying role.
• Membership of a recognised professional body (RICS or CICES) advantageous.
• Understanding of project management principles, commercial considerations, health, safety & wellbeing, and project delivery requirements.
• Proficient in surveying equipment (Total Stations, GNSS, terrestrial laser scanners).
• Experience using N4ce, Trimble Business Centre (TBC), Leica Cyclone, AutoCAD.
• Experience planning UAV surveys; GVC certificate advantageous.
• Experience in Buried Services Surveys beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent organisational and self-management skills.
• Effective communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams; willing to travel UK-wide.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of surveying projects across Northern England, Midlands and wider UK, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.
• Support the survey team in managing performance, workload planning, project delivery and business development across Scotland.
• Support growth through bid management, proposal writing, client engagement and promotion of surveying capabilities.
• Undertake and supervise land and engineering surveys per project briefs and industry standards.
• Review and quality assure survey deliverables in line with WSP procedures and standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative surveying solutions.
• Mentor, coach and develop junior team members to support their progression.
