Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Lead Test Engineer for our Fareham Campus to lead the test engineering function across electro-mechanical products. You will define test strategies, design test cases and jigs, and manage tools and data processing to support development and production stages.

You will supervise the Test Engineering group, coordinate internal teams and external facilities, and ensure robust verification and validation across multi-disciplinary systems.

Qualifications

• 3 years in a test focused role, or within test equipment development.
• Experience in data capture and analysis.
• Expert in Verification & Validation processes and tools.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software).
• Excellent knowledge of test equipment and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead Test Engineer within the department, to be the guide and support resource for the general Test Engineers
• Line manager for Test Engineering group – manage workload and external 3rd parties as required
• Analyse Master / Systems / Sub-System requirements and conformance specifications to derive test requirements
• Plan, design and communicate test cases across electro-mechanical systems for development and production lifecycle
• Define design of test jigs, harnesses and software to allow execution of test cases including automation
• Implement data processing/filtering software to extract results into databases/analysis tools
• Manage internal test facilities and liaise with external test facilities (EMC, vibration, pools)
• Fault finding and failure analysis
• Create high quality test reports
