Job summary

UK Home Office in Sheffield seeks a Lead Test Engineer to define and drive the test engineering approach across large-scale government software projects. You will build quality into every phase of the software development life cycle and align product strategies with portfolio test engineering principles.

You will lead a team, evaluate tools for virtualization, data mocking, contract testing and automated test data management, and ensure real-time and roll-up reports while optimizing test

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java for secure, reusable automated tests; Bash/PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Selenium, RestAssured, Serenity BDD; Maven or Gradle; Git.
• Experience with JUnit and assertion libraries; OWASP Top 10 and WCAG.
• Strong CI/CD experience; containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of POM design pattern and SOLID principles.
• Ability to analyze performance reports with performance testers.

Responsibilities

• Own test frameworks, review and scale new frameworks.
• Lead and coach a team of test engineers and improve testing processes.
• Evaluate and adopt testing tools for virtualization, data mocking, contract testing, and automated test data management.
• Enable real-time and roll-up reports for automation tests.
• Manage test infrastructure and run distributed, parallel tests using containers and cloud tech.
• Promote code scan, quality, accessibility testing and observability tools.
• Engage with QAT community and recruitment.
