Job summary

Orion Group is seeking an experienced Principal T&S Engineer to join a global engineering organisation delivering complex energy projects worldwide. You'll provide technical leadership across offshore and onshore projects, supporting the full lifecycle from concept through FEED, detailed design and execution.

The role spans traditional oil and gas, as well as energy transition projects including CCS, hydrogen and other low‑carbon infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Professional accreditation preferred.
Proven knowledge of Telecommunications & Security (T&S) requirements across oil & gas, carbon capture, and renewable energy sectors.
Experience delivering T&S engineering solutions for large industrial facilities across design, operations, maintenance, or project execution.
Experience on both onshore and offshore projects with knowledge of safety, regulatory, and lifecycle considerations.
Experience producing and reviewing T&S engineering documentation including philosophies, specifications, architectures, drawings, and cable schedules.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed engineering calculations including optical link budgets and voltage-drop calculations to support design activities.
Prepare, review, and check T&S engineering deliverables such as philosophies, specifications, block diagrams, architectures, cable schedules, CCTV and PA/GA coverage studies, BoM, and MTOs.
Assist with block diagrams, cable routing, control room layouts, equipment room layouts, and field equipment location drawings for T&S systems.
Ensure designs comply with company, local, and international standards, regulations, safety requirements, environmental processes, and QA procedures.
Carry out technical bid evaluations, participate in design reviews, FATs, inspections, SATs, and liaise with telecoms and security system suppliers.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (I&A, ICT Telecommunications, Security) while supporting project planning, budgeting, technical coordination, and site activities.
