Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions in St. Clair, MI is seeking a Lead Diesel Technician/Mechanic to maintain heavy fleet vehicles and tankers. You will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and supervise a team of technicians.

This role offers $32-$40 per hour, weekly pay, and full benefits within 30 days, with opportunities for training, ASE reimbursement, and career advancement across the national network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' hands-on diesel vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience on tankers and trailers.
• Experience supervising other technicians.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working on tankers and trailers

• Valid driver's license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed below)
• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
