Job description

Overview

Step into a role where your technical leadership directly shapes how critical technology solutions get delivered. You’ll guide complex, high-impact programs from idea to execution while partnering closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders. If you enjoy solving ambiguous problems, improving delivery outcomes, and influencing decisions through clear communication, you’ll thrive here. Join a team that values accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

As a Lead Technical Project Manager in Compute Infrastructure Platforms (CIP), you will lead multiple concurrent technology infrastructure programs that align with business objectives and enhance the firm’s technological capabilities. You will utilise your knowledge of technical principles and practices to develop solutions while efficiently managing resources, budgets, and cross-functional teams across a portfolio of initiatives. Your analytical reasoning and adaptability will empower you to navigate ambiguity and embrace change. By cultivating productive relationships with product teams and business stakeholders, you will contribute to the firm’s overall growth and success. Your strong communication skills and ability to influence others will be crucial in achieving mutually beneficial outcomes and managing risks in accordance with the firm’s policies and practices.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead a portfolio of complex infrastructure programs, developing and executing comprehensive multi-program plans incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, dependencies, and timelines to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Establish and maintain portfolio governance, including prioritisation, sequencing, milestone management, dependency coordination, and consistent reporting across programs.
  • Analyse and break down complex business, technical, and operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive clear execution paths across multiple workstreams.
  • Own proactive portfolio-level risk and issue management, identifying cross-program risks, resolving roadblocks, escalating effectively, and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise impact on outcomes.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and delivery, partnering with IP product groups, location support, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
  • Monitor execution and adapt plans, tracking progress across all programs, adjusting schedules and resourcing where needed, and providing regular status updates, executive summaries, and decision-ready insights to stakeholders.
  • Optimise delivery discipline and ways of working, standardising operating cadence (RAID, action/decision logs, dependency tracking), improving transparency, and mentoring other project/program managers where applicable.
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate program planning and risk synthesis (e.g., consolidating inputs into integrated plans, RAID, and executive-ready updates), validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity requirements.
  • Promotes reuse-first, AI-assisted practices for program governance and reporting, ensuring human review and alignment to delivery standards.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Applied experience in technical program/project management, leading complex technology projects and programmes in a large organisation.
  • Proactive, self-accountable, works well with teams and independently, adaptable and quick to adjust to change, with a strong risk and controls mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to create and deliver executive summaries and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong technical fluency, with familiarity in current and relevant infrastructure platforms and technologies (compute, network, storage, and/or runtime products).
  • Proven track record of effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in a fast-paced, agile environment, including balancing trade-offs across concurrent initiatives.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down objectives into manageable tasks and activities.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support program management workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted plans, risks, and recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following data handling expectations.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training/certification in program and project management.
  • Cloud platform knowledge, which helps in making informed decisions about cloud services and architecture.
  • Good working knowledge in data analytics/data visualisation and/or intelligent automation is an added advantage.
