Job description

As a Lead Technical Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our stores safe, legal and fully operational for our customers and colleagues. You’ll be accountable for the technical and engineering support behind our maintenance delivery, ensuring exceptional service and standards across our retail estate. From resolving complex issues to driving continuous improvement, you’ll help create a seamless shopping experience while supporting our teams and stakeholders with expert guidance and a proactive approach.

The Hiring Manager for this role is Andrew Williams.

Responsibilities
  • Always follow health and safety rules and help improve how we do things safely.
  • Make sure our stores get great technical support when things go wrong or need fixing.
  • Help support big projects that link to our business goals.
  • Lead how we prepare for summer and winter maintenance across the estate.
  • Help deliver changes that improve how we work and boost performance every year.
  • Spot problems early and find smart solutions in technical and engineering areas.
  • Work closely with teams across the business to make sure solutions work locally.
  • Make sure we meet all safety, legal and compliance standards – and go beyond where we can.
  • Guide our field teams so they know what good looks like and deliver it.
  • Team up with Development and Technical Assurance to keep our standards high.
  • Support our technical managers so they can help technicians keep stores safe and working.
  • Build and deliver a yearly improvement plan with our design, engineering, and supplier teams.
  • Regularly check in with your team to support their development and career journey.
  • Make sure planned and emergency jobs are done well and on time.
  • Keep our operating procedures and emergency plans up to date.
  • Be the go-to person for technical questions, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Help manage major technical issues and make sure we learn from them.
Qualifications
  • Considerable and demonstrable technical and maintenance engineering experience
  • Experience in a similar scale remote / site maintenance engineering business
  • Senior stakeholder management and Influencing skills
  • Qualified in Engineering discipline / time served level 3 / HNC or above ideally in electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and understanding of hard services categories.
  • Engineering Innovation through collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of asset life cycle management and maintenance methodologies / RCM / predictive maintenance strategies
  • Experienced in lean methodologies, RCA and PM techniques
  • Hold professional registration to IEng / CEng level.
