Moog Inc. in the United Kingdom seeks a Lead Systems Analysis Engineer/Staff Engineer to lead the development of electrohydraulic and electromechanical components for motorsport and high‑performance vehicles.

You will guide projects from requirements through simulation, validation and testing, and mentor junior engineers. The role demands strong leadership, deep systems knowledge and hands-on MATLAB/Simulink modelling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering with relevance to the role.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience in the field.
• Proven expertise in performance analysis using Simulink, V&V, subsystem integration, and technical leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic systems and classical control theory.
• Proven experience developing simulation and sizing tools.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong ability to build strategic working relationships and organize work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate customer requirements into component specifications.
• Define verification and validation strategies for product and system development.
• Lead system-level integration and testing with customers, including anomaly investigations.
• Apply knowledge of magnetic analysis, CFD, and finite element analysis where applicable.
• Create concise reports detailing design decisions and analysis results.
• Engage with customers for new opportunities, using model-based design to support solutions.
• Develop models and simulations tools to enable growth initiatives and prototyping.
• Maintain and evolve modeling/simulation tools as needed.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Moog Industrial Group is seeking a Lead Systems Analysis Engineer’/Staff Engineer to support our growing business in motorsport and high-performance vehicles. You will lead the development of electrohydraulic and electromechanical components and systems, guiding projects from requirements definition and concept development through simulation, validation, and testing. In this highly technical leadership role, you will apply seasoned engineering judgment to evaluate, adapt, and extend both standard and nonstandard design techniques. You will independently create new approaches to complex challenges, coordinate major engineering efforts, and guide cross‑functional engineering teams. The position also includes substantial responsibility for sustaining existing products while driving forward new development programs. Please note the internal title for this role is Staff Engineer.

Responsibilities Include

• Lead the functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into components specifications. Effectively communicate these internal design requirements to the other members of the design/project team.
• Drive the identification, planning, and definition of all Verification and Validation strategies for product and system development initiatives.
• Lead system or subsystem-level integration and testing in collaboration with customers, including any anomaly investigations.
• Working knowledge of magnetic analysis, computation fluid dynamics, finite element analysis.
• Create concise reports that describe the design decisions and analysis results.
• Lead customer engagement for new business opportunities, leveraging model‑based design to develop and support technical solutions.
• Drive the development of models and simulations tools that enable strategic growth initiatives and customer prototyping.
• Maintain, update and evaluate modeling and simulation tools as required.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.

To be considered for the Staff Engineer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the field of Engineering.
• Proven expertise in performance analysis in Simulink, V&V, subsystem integration, and technical leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic systems and classical control theory.
• Proven experience in developing simulation and/or sizing tools
• Demonstrated success in conducting failure analysis and implementing effective corrective actions
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
• Proven general capabilities/competencies in Building Strategic Working Relationships, Planning and Organizing, Customer Focus.
• Familiarity with servovalve design is preferred
