Job summary

The Gables Residential Home in Whitehaven is seeking a Lead Support Worker to join the team on a permanent basis, 21 hours per week, paid at £16.89 per hour. You will help residents with daily living, personal care and activities, under supervision, to promote independence and wellbeing.

As a Lead, you’ll work closely with supervisors and health professionals to ensure a safe, engaging environment and strong community partnerships, supporting residents to live the life they choose.

Qualifications

  • DBS check required, Enhanced level with Adults Barred List
  • Support responsibilities include personal care, medication assistance and helping residents stay active and independent
  • Ability to work with supervision and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care

As a Support Worker (Carer, Care Worker, Care Assistant), you’ll play an important part in helping older adults enjoy their later years, whether that's through offering emotional reassurance, supporting with personal care or medication, or encouraging people to stay active, independent, and well. As a Lead Support Worker, you'll help deliver high-quality care and support that promotes residents' independence, choice and wellbeing. Working closely with supervisors, healthcare professionals and the wider team, you'll contribute to a safe, positive environment where residents can thrive. You'll also support community partnerships and activities that enhance residents' quality of life and create meaningful opportunities for engagement.

This role requires a DBS check. The level of check for this role is - Enhanced DBS Check with a Adults Barred List check.

Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Adults. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Adults.
