Job summary

Russell Taylor Group Ltd is seeking a Lead Control Systems Engineer to drive the technical delivery of substation control projects. You will set the technical direction, architect systems and lead engineers across the full lifecycle.

Hybrid role in the UK, with strong focus on IEC 61850, protection and control integration, and SCADA configuration. The role offers training, private healthcare and a supportive engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading the technical delivery of complex control system or OT projects across the full lifecycle.
• Ability to produce and review high-quality engineering documentation, including design specifications and test plans.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, cyber security and change control practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of IEC 61850-based Substation Control Systems for transmission and distribution projects.
• Translate customer requirements into system architectures, specifications, signal lists and test documents.
• Lead configuration of COPA-DATA Zenon SCADA including HMI, alarms and reporting.
