Calibre Search is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer for its Leeds office. You will lead the design and delivery of complex structural projects across multiple sectors, mentoring engineers and coordinating with architects and contractors to balance innovation with practicality.

The role demands Chartered status or progress toward chartership, strong commercial acumen, and proven leadership in a consultancy. A supportive environment and ongoing CPD are offered.

Qualifications

• Chartered status or approaching chartership is required.
• Experience delivering building structure projects across multiple sectors.
• Ability to lead projects and review complex structural designs.
• Strong communication and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers at all levels.
• Lead the design, review, and delivery of complex structural engineering projects from feasibility through to completion.
• Oversee calculations, reports, and design outputs to high technical standards while remaining commercially focused and buildable.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to provide practical engineering solutions balancing innovation and efficiency.
• Serve as a senior point of contact for clients and colleagues.
• Support Directors in managing workloads, reviewing designs, developing standards, and mentoring engineers.
