Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time Specialty Doctor for the First Response Service (Mid Mersey) based at Hollins Park Hospital. The role involves clinical leadership, urgent patient reviews, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health care.

You will assess and manage patients across Mid Mersey, working with Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Psychologists and Social Workers, contributing to service development and patient safety.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
• MRCPsych (Desirable).
• CCT or CESR in General Adult or Old Age Psychiatry (Desirable).
• Additional clinical qualifications (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carry out urgent reviews and chair management planning meetings with families and social care.
• Carry out comprehensive psychiatric assessments and provide treatment for FRS referrals.
• Support FRS staff to manage psychiatric emergencies.
• Conduct patient reviews and Mental Health Act assessments; attend multi-professional meetings.
• Maintain high standards of clinical work when carrying out assessments.
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance and drive service improvement.
