Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Farnborough is seeking an experienced Senior Special School Nurse to lead clinical practice for children and young people with complex health needs. You will manage caseloads, supervise junior staff, and work with school staff to ensure high-quality care.

You will develop expertise in epilepsy and seizure management, enteral feeding, medicines management, clinical assessment, and respiratory care, while fostering safeguarding,

Qualifications

• BSc Nursing or RN in Child or Learning Disability Nursing; currently registered with NMC.
• Post-registration, specialist training relevant to speciality.
• Teaching Qualification, e.g. ENB 998 or equivalent.
• Practice assessor/supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Lead the senior school nursing team within a multiagency environment and manage caseloads.
• Provide clinical skills in epilepsy, enteral feeding, medications management, and PEWS.
• Deliver training to school staff and peers; supervise junior staff and students.
• Ensure safeguarding; attend MDT meetings and escalate concerns as needed.
• Oversee line management of SSN and HCSW; contribute to service improvements.
