Job description

The Lead Solution Architect will lead and be responsible for the architecting and designing large complex supply chain and logistics solutions employing commercial fleet management, supply chain management, ERP, business intelligence, web portal and integration with 3PL systems using EDI and modern integration capabilities. What will I be doing? This role will work alongside the Chief Solution Architect to ensure that the solution architecture can meet the key project functional and non-functional requirements identified for a UK MOD logistics programme. The Lead Solution Architect will be involved in all aspects of the solution development making design decisions including solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build vs reuse questions, early‑phase project estimates, platform selection and technical designs. You will ensure compliance with all architecture directions and frameworks including technical, security, and regulatory standards and take a prominent role in customer and stakeholder meetings, and technical discussions. You will have a leading role in developing a solution for a project, through initial high‑level technical design, into the detailed design phase, through the development lifecycle and into sustainment of the solution.

  • Previous experience as a Solution Architect on large customer projects, government customer experience preferred.
  • Experience architecting Inventory Management, and complex multi‑stakeholder logistics / supply chain management solutions using modern commercial solutions i.e. Manufacturing - Building IT solutions in Manufacturing/Repairs systems/domain, WMS - Warehouse Management System, TMS - Transport Management System, IBM Sterling OMS - Order Management System, ERP, ESB, Procurement, Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, etc.), within a government customer environment
  • Experience managing Application Architecture and/or Integration architectural development at an enterprise level including knowledge of application integration concepts and technologies e.g. SOA, ESBs, EAI, XML, Web Services, E‑Commerce Solutions, Service Management (ITSM, CSD) and Identity Management
  • Order Management Solutions with both Functional and Technical Solution Architecture experience would be preferable
  • Cloud - Experience in AWS Cloud would be preferable
  • Experience working collaboratively to develop a complex IT solution
  • Strong consulting, leading and mentoring skills along with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Broad knowledge of and experience with a wide variety of application technologies, platforms, and tools including web‑based systems, databases, middleware/integration technologies, security, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with Corporate back‑end systems (i.e. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Human Resource systems, etc.)
  • Experience in TAGAF/MODAF is desirable
  • Experience writing proposals
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or extensive s related experience. Advanced degree in related technical field desired.

Clearance Requirements: Due to the nature of this role Security Clearance will be required so you must hold or have the ability to achieve Security Clearance.
